papel pintado Eijffinger

papel pintado Eijffinger

In 1875, Anna Eijffinger and her husband Theo opened a wallpaper business opposite Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. A time when more and more, especially wealthy, people wanted to decorate their interior.

Initially, Eijffinger sold decorative embroidery and wallpaper, but the demand for wallpaper turned out to be the greatest. Not only because wallpapering was the most commonly used method to brighten up the walls, but also because the use of coal and peat stoves made it really necessary to stick a fresh wallpaper on the wall every year. After a year, the Eijffingers therefore focused entirely on wallpaper.

Over the years, Eijffinger developed from a craft retailer to a wholesaler. The first hundred years almost exclusively in wall coverings. Curtain fabrics have been added for forty years.

The collections are developed in our own design studio in Zoetermeer in order to be sold all over the world. With outspoken and colorful designs on wallpaper and interior fabrics, they want to make the world more beautiful. In all those years, their curiosity, creativity and desire for innovation have remained unchanged. Of course they are interested in new living trends, colours, shapes and materials. But they also look at the big moves; where are we, what drives us and where are we going? And above all, how do we translate that into our interior?
